Kokatahi RFC Returns to Junior Club Rugby After Eight Year Break

After some great work from the Kokatahi community, their locals will once again have a Kokatahi team to cheer on this season, with the emergence of an under 6 team, bringing the total number of West Coast club teams in that grade to ten.

Club representative James Staples was excited with the new team. “We’ve got so many kids out this way, it just made sense to form a team out here, and we are hoping to build next year and get more teams in other grades”

West Coast Rugby Development Officer Robbie Maitland said how great it is to see Kokatahi come back into the club scene. “It gives all another team to play and a broader base of players to meet and mingle with following their game, another great experience for the kids to enjoy”.

The side will play home games at the nearby Kokatahi-Kowhitirangi primary school, and have their first home game this Saturday against the Blaketown Knights at 10.30am
