West U8s V South Westland U8s
It was a tight game with West in the lead 25/20.
South Westland made a come back in the second half to lead until, just on the whistle Allan Harris pushed though for the try to tie the game 40 all.
Awesome game to watch!

Subject: Sth Westland U10’s Rugby – 28 June 2014
Under 10’s South Westland vs Wests
This game was a great game with a good crowd and a nice sunny day. This was South’s best team effort of the season , players of the day were Willie McBride and Alex Maisey with both players scoring good tries and McBride was strong in support play and Maisey making good yards on attack , George Rankin also tackled well.

Subject: Under 6 Rugby Marist v Blaketown
Marist met Blaketown this week in a pretty even game. Both teams played well and had plenty of energy.
Try scorers for Marist were Billie Hampton, Bella Masters, Brennan Thomas and Liam Galbraith. Good efforts were put in by Jake Crook, Tane Masters and Noah Pritchard.
Marist Players of the day went to Billie Hampton for great improvement on attack and defence and to Fynn O’Keefe for sticking to the task for the whole game.

Subject: Wests Under 8 rugby vs Marists under 8 report
A great game was played on Saturday between Wests Under 8 and Marist.
Wests led after the first half with strong showings from the players – Allan Harris got three try’s, Liam Smith two try’s and Olliver Nixon, Jacob Kelly and Jonty Robertson one each.
But Marist was too strong for Wests in the second half and overtook Wests by one try. The final score being 50-45.

Subject: Under 6 Rippa Rugby
Grey Valley vs Kiwi 2 at Ikamatua
Grey Valley had an excellent game running in lots of try’s against Kiwi 2, Tane Jones, Isabel Johansen, Jackson Dixon, Hannah Burkitt-Petch, Sophie Whittaker and Fred Campbell all showing good sportsmanship.
Players of the day went to Fred Campbell and Sophie Whittaker who played really well each scoring a try.
Fred ran the ball straight up and through the opposition to score a great try, with Sophie showing lightning speed to run around and score in the corner.

Grey Valley vs Kiwi Westland High School.
Given the rain showers everyone made a great effort.
Alex Mills, Jackson Dixon and Jake Kendrick scoring tries while Hannah Burkett Petch and Sophie Whittaker made some good runs.
Players of the day were Hannah Burkett Petch and Jackson Dixon

Subject: Kiwi Un 8 – 21/6/14
A very wet day saw Kiwi meet a strong Marist team. Both teams played well in the conditions with Marist coming away with a convincing win. Lochie Windley was outstanding with strong tackles and running players down. Curtis Smith and William Fletcher were both awarded player of the day for their continuous improvement and never giving up,
Bruce Miller never stopped chasing on defence and Kade Scadden took some hard tackles back got straight up and back for tackles. Raven Boyd, Brennan Curtain and Hunter Schroder all stuck it out the whole game despite being cold and wet.
Coach Tim Scadden said he was stoked with the improvement of his team and their ability to stuck it out for the whole game.

Subject: Rugby Under 6 Marist v Blaketown Black Panthers
Marist met Blaketown in what was a close game in bitterly cold conditions at Blaketown. Max Walklin and Catherine O’Gara did well to score tries as did Harley Andrew and Bella Masters who received the Player of the Day awards.
Zade Bellis, Brennan Thomas, Billie Hampton and Seth Billett all played well with some great defence work

Subject: Under 10′ Rugby Marist vs South Westland
Played 14 June at Karoro
Marist managed a 35-0 home ground win against South Westland.
A team of speedsters saw Ollie Robb, Dominic Moles and Mero Williams playing well with plenty of tries.
Riley Fairhall and Reid Olsen were strong in support. Alex Stone, Arly Bellis and Josh Fentiman scored their first tries of the season.
Was fantastic for both teams to have good supporter numbers, especially South Westland.
The game displayed excellent sportsmanship from both sides.

Subject: Wests Under 8 rugby report
Wests and Grey Valley put on a close exciting game of running rugby.
Strong play led to excellent tries by Jonty Robertson, Allan Harris, Liam Smith and Billy Vincent giving Wests a good lead at half time.
However, Grey Valley scored 5 unanswered tries in the 2nd half to draw level.
Two late tries by Wests allowed them to win 65-55.
Isla Reeves scored a great try and was Wests player of the day.

Subject: Kiwi Un 8 – 14/6/14
A very cold morning at Arthur Fong Park saw Kiwi under 8 take on Blaketown, Kiwi were strong from the first whistle.
Lochie Windley and Connor Reid shared the player of the day honours both having strong games on attach and defence.
Curtis Smith, Vinnie Stevens-Glass and Hamish Miller all achieved a number of tries each early in the game and were happy to step back and support their teams mates in bringing the ball up the field.
Ruben Rochford showed great improvement and take on players bigger then him with strong tackles.
Ethan Hurran had a fantastic time when running with ball in hand and showed a great amount of confidence getting amongst it and being involved in the play.
Kiwi have finished the first round strongly and have shown a massive improvement by all players.

Subject: U14 rugby
Here is a report for the West vs Westport U14 game on Sat 7th.
Wests took a big loss against a bigger well drilled Westport team.
Although Wests had some good runs & got close to the try line they couldn’t manage to score.
Westport had some strong runners that were proving difficult to stop throughout the game but the Wests boys never gave up.
Well earned player of the day for Wests went to Lee Austin.

Subject: South Westland U10’s verse Blaketown
After a really wet Friday South Westland hosted Blaketown in Hari Hari on the Saturday, it was a bit wet under foot but the kids loved getting out there and in to it.
George Rankin had his first game of the season, tackled well and handled the ball well on a wet day.
Jack Dennehy Coles was in a smaller forward pack and played well and worked hard all day.
It was an enjoyable game to watch and ably refereed by Jeff Garland.

Subject: Rugby under 8 report Wests vs Kiwi
Wests Under 8 rugby team had a great game against Kiwi last Saturday.
The players had a good battle but Wests came out stronger on the day with a final score of 35-15 to Wests.
Try’s were achieved by the following Wests players Allan Harris, Liam Smith,George Rea, Billy Vincent and Jonty Robertson ( also Player of the Day)

Subject: Kiwi Un 8 – 7/6/14
Kiwi un8’s were so excited to get back on the field after a 2 week break that the mud and early showers could not deter them when versing wests on Saturday.
Both teams had full teams which made for a very even game despite the final score in wests favour.
Oliver Wieblitz has shown great improvement and was very strong when running with the ball scoring himself the player of the day.
Hamish Miller again had a strong game leading from the front and this week was supported by his brother Bruce Miller in his first game of the season, both Miller boys were strong on defence and scoring a try each.
Lochie Windley and Brennan Curtain bout had fantastic defence games making strong tackles and chasing down players.
A great game enjoyed by all.

Subject: South Westland U10 vs Wests
As a team South Westland played very well for a wet day, they passed the ball well, and also had long periods of recycling the ball.
Players of the day were Alex Maisey and Callum Anderson who passed the ball consistently and were active throughout the game.
Alex had some good strong runs and tackled well.
Harry Friend and Lachie Clarke had strong games.

Subject: Wests U6 report
It was another strong turnout for the Wests U6 team.
Going from 6 players to 16 meant they were able to help Blaketown out with some extra players.
A special thanks from the coaches to those Wests players that donned the black jersey for half a game.
All players did some excellent attacking with Faith Gillman taking the attacking player of the day in her first game.
Wests ripping needs some work but Jake Redpath stood out and got the Wests defence player of the day for his great rips.

Subject: Wests Under 8 rugby team
Wests Under 8 rugby vs Marist Under 8.
Marist Under 8 rugby team were too strong for Wests on Saturday.
Strong running by Marist saw a number of good tries scored.
After a slow start Wests competed well and two tries were scored by West Player of the Day Allan Harris.

Subject: RE: Kiwi Un 8 – 17/5/14
Kiwi Under 8 showed great improvement against South Westland going down 30-35.
Hamish Miller was impressive scoring 2 tries, strong on defence and into everything earning him Player of the day.
Vinnie Stevens-Glass also scored 2 tries and was impressive on defence chasing down players and really leading from the front.
Connor Reid also showed great skill in only his second game at this level scoring his first try of the season and showing strong running with the ball.
Curtis Smith also showed great confidence scoring himself a try.
Caelan Bond and Raven Boyd also showed a great amount of improvement getting amongst play and making same strong tackle.
All in all a great game of rugby, very even and enjoyable to watch.
